Our Story
Ecoveritas was founded by Pantelis Levantis to bring internationally recognised sustainability certification to the Greek built environment. Drawing on over 35 years of hands-on experience in property development, design and construction through P. Levantis Development & Construction, the company identified a critical gap in the Greek property industry: the absence of transparent, evidence-based frameworks for assessing building sustainability. In 2012, Ecoveritas delivered the first BREEAM certification ever achieved in Greece — and has been leading the market ever since.
What We Do Today
Ecoveritas is Greece's leading BREEAM-licensed sustainability consultancy. We deliver BREEAM assessments and certifications across all building typologies — offices, retail, industrial, hospitality, residential and more — in Greece and internationally. Our services span pre-assessment and certification, sustainability strategy consulting, BREEAM training, and project management for sustainable construction.
To date, we have completed BREEAM certifications totalling 561,015 m² of assessed space, with a further 114,035 m² of projects currently underway. Our track record includes a series of national firsts: the first BREEAM certification in Greece (2012), the first BREEAM In-Use Part 2 certification, the first BREEAM New Construction residential registration, and the first BREEAM Refurbishment & Fit-Out certification in the country among others.
Our clients include institutional investors, developers, general contractors, banks, major retailers and other private companies across Greece, Italy and Cyprus.
Founder & Managing Director
Pantelis Levantis (B.Sc. Physics, MBA, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford) is a BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP), BRE Academy Fellow and Founder Member, and BREEAM International Assessor licensed across multiple schemes (In-Use International V6, New Construction International V6 and V7, and Refurbishment and Fit-Out).
Pantelis received the BREEAM Country First Award for Greece (2013) and served as President of SBC Greece — the Greek member of the World Green Building Council — from 2015 to 2022. His advocacy contributed to Article 25.2 of the Greek Building Code (NOK), which provided development incentives for buildings certified with international sustainability rating systems.
As a current Board member of SBC Greece, in May 2025 Pantelis addressed Members of the Greek Parliament on the reform of building sustainability regulations, advocating for a national sustainability strategy, introducing alternative incentives (e.g. tax relief for certified buildings), and piloting certified public schools as catalysts for cultural change.
He was also directly involved in the training of over 78 professionals in BREEAM methodology.
